Community Guidelines
ChaloReview works when reviews are honest and people feel safe posting them. These rules apply to every review, photo, video, comment, collection and profile on the website and in the apps.
Effective 4 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-04
Honest reviews are welcome, good or bad
Share your real experience: what you ordered, what it cost, how you were treated. Negative reviews are allowed and useful. We don't remove a review because a business dislikes it. Criticise the food, service or prices, not people's appearance, religion, ethnicity or family.
Not allowed
- Harassment and threats. No insults aimed at a person, bullying, intimidation, or threats of violence, including against staff, owners or other reviewers.
- Hate and discrimination. No attacks or slurs based on religion, sect, ethnicity, caste, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits.
- Sexual and explicit content. No nudity, sexual content or sexualised comments. No graphic violence or gore.
- Exposing personal information. Don't post anyone's phone number, address, ID card (CNIC) number, private messages or photos of identifiable people who didn't agree, including staff. A business's public contact details are fine.
- Spam and fake reviews. No reviews of places you didn't visit, reviews of your own business or a competitor's, paid or traded reviews, copied content, repeated posts, or links and promotions unrelated to the review.
- Illegal and dangerous content. Nothing that breaks the law, promotes violence or self-harm, or sells regulated goods.
- Impersonation and misleading content. Don't pretend to be someone else, a business or ChaloReview, or post edited media that misleads.
Sponsored reviews and free visits
If a business paid you, gave you a free meal, a discount or anything else for your visit, say so clearly at the start of your review (for example, "Sponsored" or "Free meal provided"). Your rating must still be your honest opinion. ChaloReview giveaways and rewards never require a positive review.
Reporting
In the app, tap Report on any review, comment or profile, choose a reason and add details if you like. The person you report isn't told who reported them. You can also block someone: you won't see their reviews or comments, and neither of you can comment on or vote on the other's reviews. Blocking doesn't notify them. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the police first.
On the website, email contact@chaloreview.com with a link to the content. See Help & Contact.
How we enforce these rules
- Automatic checks stop slurs, threats and ID numbers from being posted, and hold some posts, including a new reviewer's first review, until a moderator approves them.
- Moderators check reports every day and aim to act within 24 hours, sooner for threats and exposed personal information.
- Content that breaks these rules is removed. Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, the account may be suspended (no posting, commenting or voting) or closed. Threats and exposing personal information can lead to suspension on the first offence.
- Reviews aren't removed only because a business reports them. A moderator checks every report against these guidelines.
- If you think we got it wrong, email contact@chaloreview.com and a different team member will look again.
